Areas of Service
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. - Colossians 3:23-24
Congregational Bible Church has many opportunities to serve. Listed below are a few of the areas where you can be involved in a Serving Ministry.
Periodically assist in the nursery with children 2 and under during Sunday School and Worship Service. Parents will pick up their children after the main service.
Periodically help teach and do crafts for children ages 3-8 during the preaching portion of the Sunday service. Children are dismissed from the service before the sermon and head to a separate classroom. Parents pick up their children after the main service.
Help teach or substitute Sunday school when another teacher is gone or sick.
Be a part of the worship team that leads music during the Sunday service. Play an instrument or sing.
Periodically help operate the lyric slides for worship or help operate sound during the Sunday service.
Join the choir to sing during special Sunday services.
Help plan/host events for our Jr. High and High School age students. Help lead games during Wednesday night youth group.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRAYER
Weekly pray for the health and growth of the church among other prayer needs with a group that meets on Wednesday nights at 5:20.
Periodically help with our convalescent service at Golden Living in Shafter every 5th Sunday of the month.
BUILDING & GROUNDS
Help maintain, prepare, and/or clean the church facility or property when needs arise.
Periodically help process new books, staff a display cart for checkout during Coffee Fellowship, and/or review books for The Voice.
